Harbaugh pulling for "both sides" in Ngata negotiations

Haloti Ngata's performance of four tackles, two recovered fumbles, one sack and one tipped pass that led to a Ray Lewis interception in the Ravens' 35-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday would seem to have shifted the balance of power to the defensive tackle in his ongoing negotiations for a long-term contract with the organization.

Ngata told The Sun's Mike Preston that the sides are "just a few dollars apart." On Monday, coach John Harbaugh said he doesn't have much involvement in the contract discussions.

"No, I stay out of that," he said with a laugh. "I've done as much as I can do. I'm on record: I've already done as much as I can do. The pressure's on. I said we want Haloti way back when. I happen to be very good friends with Haloti's agent [Mike McCartney] and of course very good friends with Ozzie and Steve. So I'm pulling for both sides."
