The Ravens have signed former University of Buffalo wide receiver Marcus Rivers, according to a source.

The Ravens released former University of Kansas quarterback Dayne Crist to create a roster spot for Rivers.

Rivers is an imposing target at 6 feet 3, 220 pounds. He was cut last year by the Green Bay Packers after going undrafted.

He has also had stints with the Calgary Stampeders and Edmondton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League.

As a senior, he caught 60 passes for 615 yards and two touchdowns.

As a junior, he caught 50 passes for 690 yards and five touchdowns. As a senior, he was a second-team All-Mid-American Conference selection and here's a link to his highlight tape.

He played basketball in high school and was an All-Western New York selection. Rivers has a 4.57 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical leap, a 10-4 broad jump and a 6.63 three-cone drill.

Rivers competed in the NFL super regional combine last year and played in the Players All-Star classic.

Crist is a 6-foot-4, 239-pound transfer from Notre Dame who passed for 3,640 career yards, 20 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.

Last season, Crist passed for 1,313 yards, four touchdowns and nine interceptions.

As a sophomore at Notre Dame, Crist had his best season with a career-high 2,033 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

During his campus Pro Day workout, Crist ran the 40-yard dash in 4.94 seconds and had a 29-inch vertical leap and bench pressed 225 pounds 15 times.

In the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl all-star game, Crist was named the Most Valuable Player after completing 7 of 10 passes for 61 yards and one touchdown pass and rushed for another score.
