Ed Dickson, Tight end( Lloyd Fox, Baltimore Sun / December 22, 2013 )
GS: 14 | GP: 16 | Snaps: 870
Season in review: Dickson got an opportunity to prove to the Ravens and 31 other teams that he could be a consistent pass-catching threat when fellow tight end Dennis Pitta injured his hip early in training camp. Dickson, who suffered a slight hamstring tear during camp, did not make a favorable impression, though. He had just 25 receptions for 273 yards and one touchdown and his run blocking was subpar.
Stat that stands out: 16.7% -- Dickson¿s drop rate, highest among tight ends with at least 20 targets.
Outlook for 2014 and beyond: Dickson is an unrestricted free agent. He seemed resigned to the fact that he won't be back with the Ravens, whom he called his "first love," and even said publicly that the team should re-sign Pitta. It seems this athletic but mistake-prone tight end will be playing elsewhere in 2014.
