Season in review: Not too much was said or written when the Ravens signed Smith in early June, but the long-time Jacksonville Jaguar was probably the team's most consistent player throughout the season. Proving a quality replacement for the retired Ray Lewis, Smith led the team in tackles, was third in sacks and second in interceptions and passes defended. He proved to be a free agent steal.
Stat that stands out: 123 tackles ¿ Smith led the team in that category by a wide margin
Outlook for 2014 and beyond: Smith is one of the Ravens' 13 free agents and the team has prioritized re-signing him. However, it will probably cost significantly more than the one-year, $1.125 million deal he signed with the Ravens last offseason. Smith is 31-years old but he proved he was healthy and he should have a couple of suitors when free agency begins.
