Season in review: There were high hopes for Brown after the Ravens traded up in the second round to make sure that they landed the Kansas State standout linebacker. Fast though undersized, Brown showed some flashes and was a regular on the special teams groups. However, the physical and mental jump to the NFL proved challenging. Brown made 12 total tackles in a part-time role.
Stat that stands out: 235 ¿ Brown¿s listed playing weight during the season. Coaches have asked him to put on weight this offseason.
Outlook for 2014 and beyond: Head coach John Harbaugh essentially challenged Brown when he said that he expects him to win the starting weak-side linebacker job out of training camp. Brown is certainly talented enough, but he needs to get significantly bigger and stronger this offseason and get more comfortable with the defensive playbook for that to happen.
