Ravens veteran safety Bernard Pollard has never been one to mince words, and he stayed true to form today when he was asked about whether he had any concern about the replacement officials who are on track to referee Week One.

"You know what, this is what it is right now,” said Pollard, letting out an audible groan as the question was asked. “I would love to see the refs come back. I could care less if you fine me or whatever. I would love to see them come back, but this is the business part of the NFL. They want things to happen, the refs want things to happen. But this is one thing where me being a player kind of understands, when we were in strike or on a lockout I should say, this is what happens. They’ve got to come to an agreement.”

The league and the NFL Referees Association had some talks Saturday, but they went nowhere and no further talks are reportedly planned.

“Hopefully it’s quick, tomorrow hopefully,” Pollard said. “I can’t call it but this is the league, man. All we can do is hold on. We got to strap up. You all see the calls, too. It’s new to them. It’s new to the replacement refs. This game is so much faster than they’ve seen. Guys are a lot slicker than what they’ve seen. We just have to hope and pray that these guys get back at it.”
