Retired swimmer Michael Phelps was with the Ravens every step of the way during their Super Bowl run last year, and the most decorated Olympian ever is picking up where he left off.
Five days after attending the Ravens' preseason loss last Thursday to the Carolina Panthers at M&T Bank Stadium, the Rodgers Forge native dropped by the Under Armour Performance Center with his girlfriend, Win McMurry, to watch practice and speak to several players afterward.
Phelps and McMurry, who works for the Golf Channel, greeted Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome in front of the team building before heading out back to catch the end of practice.
As they walked back in the building following the final extended practice before Thursday's preseason finale against the St. Louis Rams, several Ravens, including quarterback Joe Flacco, running back Ray Rice, fullback Vonta Leach and offensive linemen Michael Oher and Marshal Yanda stopped to shake hands and say a few words to Phelps.
Accompanied by Rice, Phelps later took McMurry on a brief tour of the team facility.
Orioles right fielder Nick Markakis and his family attended the Ravens' practice Monday.
