Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher is plenty busy with the football season, so he hasn't really gotten a chance to see his adoptive brother, Sean Tuohy Jr., play basketball much. But that figures to change soon.
Tuohy, a senior Briarcrest Christian School, has committed orally to play basketball at Loyola University beginning next season.
“It’s big," Oher said. "I get to go to most of the home games, just to see him play. I didn’t get a chance to watch him in high school much so I get a chance to watch him a lot more, especially if he’s coming up here to play. ... I'm very excited just to be able to hang out with him and just get to do more stuff with him. I'm pretty sure everybody [in his family] will be up here more.”
Oher, who said that he stayed out of his brother's recruiting process, ackowledged that he was surprised by the news. He expected his brother to follow in the footsteps of Sean Sr., who played at Mississippi.
"I thought he’d go to Ole Miss like his father," Oher said. "But he has his own mind, and I’m going to enjoy having him up here.”
Oher joked about dominating his younger -- and much smaller -- brother in backyard matchups, but he was more than happy to give a scouting report of the future Greyhound.
“He’s a smart player," Oher said. "He can find an open guy. He knows how to play the game. I enjoy watching him. His dad is the SEC leader in assists still to this day, so he likes to pass the ball.”
