The Ravens have done their due diligence on Northern Illinois safety Jimmie Ward.
Ward recently visited the Ravens, according to a source.
The Ravens have previously met with Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Washington State safety Deone Bucannon.
Ward has visits with over 10 teams, but he isn't conducting private workouts as he continues to recover from a minor foot surgery in which he had a screw inserted in his foot.
Ward is expected to be medically cleared this spring.
Before Ward underwent the surgery, he had a strong campus Pro Day workout where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds with a 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-5 broad jump.
Ravens secondary coach Steve Spagnuolo attended the workout.
Draft analysts have graded Ward as a potential second-round pick.
Ward was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Back of the Senior Bowl. The 5-foot-11, 193-pounder had 95 tackles and seven interceptions as a senior last season.
The Mobile, Ala., native is regarded as interchangeable between free safety and strong safety.
