Ngata probable vs. Steelers

The Ravens listed defensive tackle Haloti Ngata as probable for Sunday night’s showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The two-time Pro Bowl selection was limited in practice Friday after sitting out sessions on Wednesday and Thursday with what the team described as a thigh injury.

Center Matt Birk (neck) and cornerback Danny Gorrer (thigh) joined Ngata among the probables. Both were upgraded to full participation Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday.

Left guard Ben Grubbs (strained ligaments in right toe) is questionable. Grubbs, who has not played since the season opener against Pittsburgh on Sept. 11, has been limited in all three days of practice this week.

Wide receiver/kick returner David Reed (knee), rookie running back Anthony Allen (thigh) and rookie cornerback Chykie Brown (knee) are questionable after being limited for the second straight day.

Not surprisingly, the Ravens ruled out wide receiver Lee Evans (left ankle) and inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring).

For the Steelers, outside linebacker James Harrison (fractured orbital bone) is probable after being upgraded from limited to full participation Friday.

Inside linebacker James Farrior (torn calf muscle) was limited for the third straight day and is questionable. But the team ruled out outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley (strained left hamstring), who did not practice Friday after being limited the two previous days.

Starting wide receiver Hines Ward (ankle sprain) and punter Dan Sepulveda (knee) are questionable. Ward was limited for the third straight day, while Sepulveda was a new addition to the injury report.

In addition to Woodley, Pittsburgh ruled out wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (knee). But the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday that Sanders is not in Pittsburgh because of the death of his mother.
