These are nervous times for the Ravens coaching staff because a year ago most of them were given one year deals, and many of those on offense were told they had to get to the Super Bowl, or they might be dismissed.
According to a team source, no coaches have been dismissed yet, but that could happen in the next two to three weeks. The source also said that offensive coordinator Cam Cameron has not been told whether he will return next season, but he drew criticism from team officials for throwing the ball to receiver Lee Evans in the end zone late in the game instead of to other prominent receivers.
Head coach John Harbaugh was expected to be with Cameron at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. today to begin evaluating players. Defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano was supposed to be at the Senior Bowl also, but those plans were postponed because published reports had Pagano interviewing for the head coaching job with the Indianapolis Colts today.
If Pagano leaves, linebackers coach Dean Pees could become his replacement. The Ravens might also have to replace wide receivers coach Jim Hostler, who has received similar offers from other teams including the Miami Dolphins.
