Michael Huff passes Ravens physical, news conference today

Ravens free safety Michael Huff passed his physical this morning and signed his three-year, $6 million contract.

He'll be introduced at a news conference at team headquarters this afternoon.

Huff and secondary coach Teryl Austin will attend the news conference.

Huff replaces former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Ed Reed, who recently signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Houston Texans.

Huff, 30, is a former Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick from Texas who recorded 56 tackles, two interceptions and 13 pass deflections last season. He mostly lined up at cornerback.

Huff had 94 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles in 2010.

Huff is a 6-foot, 211-pound former high school track standout from Irving, Texas.

The Ravens had Huff on their radar during the 2006 NFL draft, when he was selected seventh overall, five picks prior to the Ravens landing future Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.
