Baltimore Sun staff members give their thoughts on the Ravens' game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Week 15 of the 2013 NFL season.
Matt Vensel, reporter: Justin Tucker for MVP.
Childs Walker, reporter: This season gets more improbable by the week. Again the Ravens seemed on the cusp of a gut-wrenching loss after the defense squandered a late lead. Again they staved off the blow with an improbable clutch play, this time a 61-yard field goal by wunderkind Justin Tucker. I won't even dishonor Tucker's recent performance by trying to sum it up. For all the dramatics of the last few weeks, the Ravens still face a thorny road to the playoffs. But logic doesn't seem to apply to this story.

Peter Schmuck, columnist: Justin Tucker is, quite simply, a revelation. When he sneaked that 61-yard field goal over the right corner of the crossbar, the Ravens reminded everyone why they are never to be underestimated in December or the postseason. That said, this game would have been a lot more comfortable if the Ravens could have traded one of Tucker's field goals for a touchdown in the red zone. Maybe next week.
Ron Fritz, sports editor: The Ravens did what they had to on the road for the win, but kicking field goals instead of scoring touchdowns won’t get you very far in the playoffs. But a huge win, nonetheless, for the Ravens.
