Meeting near midfield after Shaun Shisham's 42-yard field goal as time expired gave the Steelers the victory, Harbaugh extended his hand and said "Congratulations" to Tomlin. The Steelers coach shook it quickly without saying anything.
Harbaugh then said said, "Hey, Hey, Hey! ... ." Tomlin looked at Harbaugh and said, "Thank you, good job" before the two headed in separate directions.
Tomlin, who is known for his intensity, then slapped Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco on the chest before he headed the other way.
Harbaugh glared at Tomlin for a little longer but nothing more came of the incident.
It certainly didn't appear to be that big of a deal and neither coach was asked about it after the game. However, with the history of the Harbaugh family and handshakes - John's brother, Jim, the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, had a memorable exchange with Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz last season - the incident will undoubtedly be discussed in the days ahead.
