Defensive end Pernell McPhee missed his second straight day of practice because of a thigh injury, and he was not alone.
Defensive tackle Haloti Ngata also sat out Thursday’s session. Ngata, who practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, is dealing with an injured right shoulder.
Cornerback Jimmy Smith (groin) and wide receiver Jacoby Jones (foot) participated on a limited basis for the second consecutive day.
Eleven players practiced fully for the second straight day. They were safeties Ed Reed (labrum), Bernard Pollard (chest) and James Ihedigbo (hand), offensive tackles Michael Oher (ankle), Kelechi Osemele (ankle) and Bryant McKinnie (thigh), outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (right Achilles tendon), right guard Marshal Yanda (shoulder), nose tackle Ma’ake Kemoeatu (sprained right knee), inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hand) and cornerback Chykie Brown (ankle).
Tight end Ed Dickson (hand) was added to the injury report, but he took part fully in Thursday’s practice.
The Cleveland Browns, Sunday’s opponent, practiced without starting defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (calf) for the second consecutive day.
Three starters who were limited Wednesday – middle linebacker D’Qwell Jackson (foot/toe), strong safety T.J. Ward (hand/shoulder) and rookie running back Trent Richardson (chest/rib) – were limited again.
Five starters fully participated for the second straight day. They were outside linebacker James-Michael Johnson (knee/groin), defensive end Frostee Rucker (shoulder/toe), wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring), right guard Shawn Lauvao (groin) and rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden (groin/thigh).
