Ravens Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is active for today's game against the Cleveland Browns despite a right shoulder injury and a sprained right medial collateral ligament.
Ngata didn't practice Thursday or Friday, but is up for this AFC North game and slated to start.
Ngata has been bothered by the knee injury since the Ravens' 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Prior to the Ravens' bye week, he was in a lot of discomfort against the Houston Texans due to the knee injury and was limited to one tackle.
Meanwhile, the Ravens deactivated rookie cornerback Asa Jackson, rookie running back Bobby Rainey, offensive guard Ramon Harewood, wide receiver and kick returner Deonte Thompson, tight end Billy Bajema, defensive end Pernell McPhee (right knee, thigh) and defensive tackle Bryan Hall.
Offensive guard Jah Reid is active today and expected to contribute on a reserve basis behind starting left guard Bobbie Williams.
Arthur Jones will start at left defensive end in place of McPhee, who underwent two knee surgeries on his right knee before the season.
He had the first arthroscopic procedure during the spring and another one prior to training camp.
McPhee also took a helmet to the knee in the first game of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals and has complained about the effects of the injury repeatedly this fall.
The Browns scratched cornerback Dimitri Patterson, running back Brandon Jackson, defensive back Tashaun Gipson, fullback Owen Marecic, starting defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin (calf), offensive lineman Jarrod Shaw and wide receiverJosh Cooper.
Defensive tackle Phil Taylor and wide receiver Josh Gordon are starting.
