When backup center Gino Gradkowski walks into M&T Bank Stadium for his first regular-season game as a member of the Ravens, he will have about 20 family members in the stadium. His big brother will be there, too, but he will be standing across the field on the Cincinnati Bengals’ sideline.
“We talk all the time,” said Gino Gradkowski, a fourth-round pick in April’s draft. “He’s a big shoulder for me to lean on. It helps me out a lot to have him. He’s always helping me out and telling me what to expect and how to handle myself on and off the field. He’s been a great leader by example. He handles himself well, and it’s great to have a role model like that.”
Bruce Gradkowski said on his Twitter page Friday that it is a “dream come true” to be meeting his younger brother on Monday Night football.
Gradkowski is purchasing tickets for his parents, sisters, grandmothers, and aunts and uncles.
“It will be convenient for my family,” he said. “They won’t have to pick which game to go to … It really is perfect how it turned out. Your first-ever NFL game being a Monday night game, that’s amazing. These fans have been great throughout the preseason. I’m really excited to see what they bring on Monday night."
