Joe Flacco was one of 14 quarterbacks to start in all 16 games in the regular season. But Flacco’s durability extends even further back.
Flacco has never missed a regular-season start in his four years with the Ravens. Only the New York Giants’ Eli Manning (2005-2011) and the San Diego Chargers’ Philip Rivers (2006-11) have longer streaks than Flacco.
Flacco, who played a portion of the 2009 campaign with a deep bruise covering his entire right hip, was reminded Thursday about his ability to stay relatively injury-free.
“I didn’t really think about it, but I think one of the things about being a good quarterback in this league is to show up every week and put your team in a chance to win and be that guy that’s there every week for your team,” Flacco said. “And I take a lot of pride into it. Hopefully, I can continue to keep it up. But I definitely [think about it] – like I said, not much – but I do realize that I’ve done that.”Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
