Ravens starting tight end Ed Dickson expressed relief that he didn't suffer any ligament damage to his right knee during a 16-13 overtime victory over the San Diego Chargers, and indicated he believes he'll play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The injury has been characterized as a sprained and bruised knee. If Dickson can't go, Dennis Pitta will start in his place.
"I'm feeling a lot better," Dickson said today in the Ravens' locker room. "It could have been a lot worse. I'm just fortunate. I'm day by day.
In Dickson's view, though, there's no way he misses this game. Dickson was limping slightly today, but said that's mostly because it's heavily wrapped.
"It's a rivalry, my mindset is I feel like I'm going," said Dickson, who has caught 14 passes for 152 yards this season. "There's nothing that's going to keep me from playing in this game. If I'm not there physically, then we'll take the precautions, but this is what I'm here for."
