Strong-side linebacker Elvis Dumervil was the lone Raven not practicing today as the team continued its preparations for Monday night's game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

Dumervil has not practiced since hurting his left ankle in the Ravens' Thanksgiving night victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Dumervil said that he is aiming to return to the practice field on Friday.

"I’m going to try and go out tomorrow," he said. "I’m going to try and go out with the guys, get some work in. We’ve got a good team in Detroit so I have to make sure I’m ready."

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also said that he remains optimistic that the team's sack leader will be ready to play by Monday. If he's not, Courtney Upshaw will continue to see most of the snaps at strong-side linebacker.

Dumervil said that he is dealing with both a bruised and sprained ankle, which has made his recovery more "awkward."

"It’s definitely gotten better," he said. "The strength is getting there. Just working man, trying to continue to work on my conditioning and really strengthen that ankle to get me to a point where I can tolerate it."

The Ravens remain a pretty healthy team at this stage of the season and they got another player back when rookie safety Brynden Trawick returned to practice. Trawick has missed the past two games with a high ankle sprain.
