The Ravens' travel plans will mirror what they did last January, flying to Denver today to arrive roughly 24 hours before kickoff to minimize the amount of time spent there and the negative effects on the players, which can include shortness of breath and accelerated heart rates. The Ravens' medical staff has also given health tips about staying hydrated.
Their approach won't change heading into this kickoff of the NFL regular season.
"We're on the same schedule as last year," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "So, it shouldn't be any different that way."
When asked how those plans worked out last season, Harbaugh had a quick reply: "We played over five quarters. I thought we did pretty well with that.”
