Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised Shipley for his work in a relief role. Shipley said he hadn't played guard since last season when he was with the Indianapolis Colts and rarely practices at that spot.
"I was used to the pressure situation at the end," Shipley said. "I hadn't gotten that many reps in practice at guard. Just from being at center, I know the offense and was ready to roll."
Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb said he didn't aggravate his strained hamstring.
"At first, I was concerned that it might act up," Webb said. "I didn't feel a thing. It came along. Great win and I finished healthy."
Meanwhile, Dolphins linebacker Dannell Ellerbe left the game with a shoulder injury and didn't return.
Ellerbe left the Ravens in March as a free agent, signing a five-year, $35 million contract that included $17 million in guaranteed money.
Dolphins starting cornerback Nolan Carroll, a former Maryland player, left the game with a rib injury.
