While middle linebacker Ray Lewis will miss his fourth consecutive game as expected, Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff is active for the Ravens’ game against the Indianapolis Colts today at M&T Bank Stadium.
Cundiff missed practice on Thursday and Friday with some cramping in his left calf muscle. The Ravens had veteran free agent kicker Shayne Graham on standby, but his services will not be needed as Cundiff is active. Cundiff is 26-for-34 on field goal attempts this season, but he is a perfect 16-for-16 at home.
Lewis, who is still nursing a toe injury, hasn’t practice at all the past two weeks. However, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that the veteran linebacker is “real close” to playing. The Ravens have targeted next Sunday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers for Lewis’ return. In his place, Dannell Ellerbe will make a second consecutive start.
Cornerback Chris Carr will also miss a third consecutive game with a back injury. Carr was declared out on Friday.
The rest of the Ravens’ inactives are linebacker Chavis Williams, wide receivers LaQuan Williams and Tandon Doss, running back Anthony Allen and nose tackle Brandon McKinney.
For the Colts, quarterback Peyton Manning, wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, defensive back Mike Holmes, linebackers A.J. Edds and Kevin Bentley, tackle Quinn Ojinnaka and defensive end Jerry Hughes are inactive.
