Cundiff makes first visit to Tennessee

Embarking on his eighth season in the NFL, Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff has recorded touchbacks and converted field goals in nearly every stadium in the league.

But on Sunday, Cundiff will pay his first visit to LP Field, the home of the Tennessee Titans. In fact, it'll be the first time he has played against the Titans on their home field.

To familiarize himself with LP Field, Cundiff has been scouring the Internet for pictures of the goal posts and sightlines to get comfortable with what he will see Sunday.

"I try to do as much research and look up as many pictures as I possibly can to see what things look like," he said Thursday. "Sightlines are a big thing, seeing what it looks like when you're looking from one end zone to the other and try to see what's behind the goal posts. The other thing is watching film and seeing how the flags flow and trying to see if there's any kind of consistency there. That's all you can really do. And then you can ask around. I know [punter] Sam [Koch] has played there, so I can see what he remembers."

When the players arrive for pre-game warmups at LP Field, Cundiff will ask team photographer Phil Hoffmann to take pictures of the goal posts from the 40-yard line in each direction so that Cundiff can put the photos in his collection. He estimates that he may have about three-quarters of the league's stadiums on his laptop.

"That way, if we play them again, I can go through them and use the imagery to play out different situations and go through different kicks in my head," Cundiff said.
