The Pro Bowl outside linebacker was extremely impressive in his first game back from a partially torn Achilles tendon, contributing a sack and four tackles. He displayed a burst, strength and explosiveness. About the only issue the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year had problems with was stamina, which was understandable considering he's over his listed playing weight of 260 pounds and hadn't played in a football game since the AFC championship game. Now, Suggs faces off with five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Joe Thomas, one of the best technicians in the game. So, this won't be an easy second game for Suggs. In 18 career games against the Browns, Suggs has 92 tackles, 13 sacks, seven forced fumbles and one interception for a touchdown. Much of that success was achieved earlier in his career, though. Last season, Suggs had one sack and eight tackles in two games rushing against Thomas. Two seasons ago, Suggs had a total of one sack and seven tackles in two games against Thomas. In 2009 and 2008, Suggs had no sacks against Thomas. Suggs had one sack in 2007 against Cleveland, but did have an 11-tackle performance in a home game against the Browns that year.
