DENVER -- The Denver Broncos have made it official, ruling out 12-time Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey for Thursday night's opener against the Ravens because of a foot injury.
Denver tight end Joel Dreessen and running back C.J. Anderson are also both out with knee injuries, and offensive guard Chris Kuper is doubtful with an ankle injury.
Ravens starting tight end Ed Dickson is listed as probable, not surprising considering his practice activity level and the fact that he's had no setbacks since partially tearing his right hamstring during training camp.
Backup rush outside linebacker Pernell McPhee is also probable with continued knee issues.
The Ravens had already ruled out defensive lineman Arthur Jones with an undisclosed illness.
Three players are doubtful: wide receiver Deonte Thompson, who's been sidelined since the first preseason game with a sprained left foot, rookie defensive tackle Brandon Williams, who's in a walking boot after sustaining a toe injury on his right foot, and center Ryan Jensen (foot surgery).
Jensen said this week that he's confident he could return at some point this season.
