Breaking down Ravens center Jeremy Zuttah's five-year, $18 million contract

Ravens center Jeremy Zuttah's five-year contract is worth $18 million and includes $6.5 million in guaranteeed money, according to a league source.

The deal has a maximum value of nearly $20 million.

Zuttah got a $3.5 million signing bonus through the conversion of his originally scheduled $4.5 million base salary from his old Tampa Bay Buccaneers contract.

His base salary of $1 million for 2014 is fully guaranteed for skill, injury and salary cap and $2 million of his $3 million base salary is also fully guaranteed.

His first-year salary-cap figure is $1.7 million and the Ravens are now approximately $6.976 million under the NFL salary-cap limit of $133 million.

Zuttah has a $750,000 playtime, Pro Bowl escalator clause in 2014. He has a $1 million playtime, Pro Bowl escalator clause in 2015.

The deal has $3.5 million nonguaranteed base salaries in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

His salary-cap figure for 2015 is $3.7 million, and his salary-cap figure is $4.2 million in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

The Ravens traded their 2015 fifth-round draft pick to the Buccaneers in exchange for Zuttah and have named him their new starting center, replacing Gino Gradkowski.
