A Ravens pass offense that ranks in the middle of the pack in the NFL might be short-staffed as wide receiver Anquan Boldin was absent from the portion of Wednesday’s practice open to the media.
Boldin did not appear injured during a light workout Tuesday, but his absence from Wednesday’s session does not bode well for an offense that has averaged 226.8 passing yards this season.
The Cleveland Browns, Sunday’s opponent, ranks third in the league against the pass, allowing just an average of 188.4 yards.
Defensive end Cory Redding and kicker Billy Cundiff were also not present. An ankle injury forced Redding to sit out two days of practice before returning on a limited basis. And Cundiff has been hobbled by a left calf injury that persuaded the club to sign Shayne Graham Wednesday.
Five players who were questionable for Sunday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers – cornerbacks Lardarius Webb (left toe) and Chris Carr (back), inside linebacker Ray Lewis (right toe), defensive tackle Haloti Ngata (back) and left guard Ben Grubbs (right toe) – were present and active.
