Former Ravens running back Bobby Rainey has been claimed by the Cleveland Browns, according to a league source.
Rainey was one of the Ravens' final roster cuts Saturday and the team had hoped to add him to their practice squad if he had cleared waivers.
Now Rainey remains in the AFC North with the Browns.
Rainey is a diminutive all-purpose running back at 5 feet 8, 212 pounds.
The former Western Kentucky standout excelled during the preseason as a dangerous returner, and scored two touchdowns running the football against the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, former University of Maryland tight end Matt Furstenburg cleared waivers after being cut by the Ravens and is now on the defending Super Bowl champions' practice squad.
