Bernard Pierce’s last carry in the Ravens’ 38-35 win in double overtime against the Denver Broncos in Saturday’s AFC Divisional round occurred in the third quarter, but the rookie running back said he will not miss Sunday’s AFC championship at the New England Patriots.
Pierce injured his knee, gaining just 14 yards on five carries after leading the offense in rushing in each of the previous three contests. But Pierce assured reporters before Wednesday’s practice that he would be available to complement starter Ray Rice.
“I’m feeling good,” he said. “A lot of people have questioned me about going into the game, but I’m looking forward to it. I’m going to count my blessings and prepare for it the best I can.”Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
