GS: 1 | GP: 16 | Snaps: 408 Season in review: It was not the breakout season that many predicted for the second-year back out of Temple. He had 44 more carries than he did in his rookie season, yet finished with 96 fewer rushing yards. Like Rice, Pierce struggled to find holes behind a struggling offensive line and his issues in the passing game and with blitz pickups prevented him from getting on the field more. Stat that stands out: 2.9 -- Pierce's average yards per carry, down from 4.9 in his rookie season. Outlook for 2014 and beyond: Pierce played all 16 games for the Ravens, but he dealt with aches and pains throughout. It's expected that he'll need shoulder surgery this offseason, which will affect his preparation for next year. The Ravens still have high hopes for Pierce who is strong and elusive when he's at his best. However, increased opportunity will come with better hands and improved pass blocking.
