New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick hasn’t disclosed much on rookie defensive end Chandler Jones’ injured ankle, but Jones’ older brother wasn’t as tight-lipped Wednesday.
Arthur Jones said his younger brother hasn’t said much either, but the Ravens defensive end said he thinks Chandler Jones will be on the field for Sunday’s AFC championship game between the two teams.
“He's not telling me anything,” Arthur Jones said. “I think he’s going to be out there. He’s a hard worker, and I know he’s getting treatment on it hard.”
Chandler Jones finished the regular season ranked second on New England in sacks with six and made two tackles in the team’s 41-28 rout of the Houston Texans on Sunday before suffering the ankle injury late in the second quarter and failing to return.
Arthur Jones set career highs in tackles with 47, sacks with 4 1/2 and starts with six. Jones said having the brothers in the AFC championship game would be a source of pride for the Jones family.
“It’s definitely a great moment in sports,” Arthur Jones said. “It’s unbelievable. We’re definitely a blessed family.”
