The NFL has fined Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin and cornerback Cary Williams $15,750 apiece for their late hits against the Denver Broncos, according to league spokesman Corry Rush.

Boldin delivered a shoulder block to cornerback Chris Harris in the fourth quarter after the play was over, knocking him to the ground.

Williams tackled wide receiver Eric Decker well out of bounds in the fourth quarter.

Both players were penalized for unnecessary roughness against the Broncos with coach John Harbaugh defending Boldin's actions and saying it was a legal hit, while acknowledging that Williams had made a mistake.

It was Boldin's team-leading ninth penalty of the season, and the sixth for Williams.

"I knew I was close to the sideline," Williams said Thursday while he indicated he hadn't been fined yet. "I wanted to get him out of bounds and I didn't know what he was trying to do."
