Gators coach Will Muschamp cares about winning, style points be damned.
While his No. 4 Gators' performances might not be "sexy," so to speak, Muschamp said at his least one person thinks he is.
"My wife told me I was sexy after the game," Muschamp said Monday, two days after a grind-it-out, 23-0 win against FCS member Jacksonsville State. "We don't win sexy, but she said you're sexy. That's a positive.
"She was kidding."
Muschamp was, too ... we think.
But one thing is for certain, he is keeping a sense of humor in the face of detractors that question whether Florida even should have even a slim chance to play in the BCS Championship.
If the Gators win at Florida State Saturday and No. 1 Notre Dame loses at USC, Florida could slip in the backdoor to the BCS Championship on Jan. 7 in Miami.
While the Gators might not be turning heads, Muschamp said their 10-1 record is a thing of beauty to him.
Muschamp said he could not agree more with two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Bill Parcells, who once said, "You are what your record says you are."
