UCF announced on Friday that its games against Louisville and Rutgers will air on ESPN, and the season opener against Akron will kickoff at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.com.
The Knights will have an extensive national television presence this season, including games on national television in at least six of the 12 weeks of the regular season. The games on ESPN on the road at Louisville and at home against Rutgers are the first announced on the ESPN broadcast platform, however UCF is also scheduled to play USF on Black Friday, Nov. 29, on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ABC.
UCF's game against the Cardinals will kickoff at 8 p.m., while the home game against the Scarlet Knights is set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Knights will open the season at Bright House Networks Stadium on a Thursday night against the Zips in a game that will air on ESPN's digital platform. They then travel to FIU to play on a Friday night, Sept. 6, at 8 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
UCF then travels to Penn State for a 6 p.m. game on Sept. 14 that will air on the Big Ten Network.
A home game against South Carolina on Sept. 28 is a prime candidate to be broadcast by ESPN, while game times for the Knights other American Athletic Conference games -- at Memphis on Oct. 5, vs. UConn on Oct. 26, vs. Houston on Nov. 9, at Temple on Nov. 16, vs. USF on Nov. 29 and at SMU on Dec. 7 have not yet been released.
