SAN DIEGO -- Former Miss California Carrie Prejean is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

Prejean, who married Oakland Raiders quarterback Kyle Boller in July, told that she is "so excited" about becoming a mother.

The 23-year-old is about 3-months pregnant. She is due in May.

Prejean says she and Boller started trying about a month after their wedding.

They plan to find out the sex of the baby next week.

"I'm trying to stay healthy, but it has been tough. I've been getting night sickness. We've started thinking about names, but we are keeping it to ourselves for right now. It has been fun looking at baby books," she told Fox411.

Boller, 29, is said to be thrilled about becoming a father.

"I have the most beautiful pregnant wife ever, we are so in love and this was just the best news when we found out a couple of weeks ago," Boller said, adding that he and his wife celebrated with a big hug and shed a few happy tears.

Prejean made headlines last year after making controversial remarks during the Miss USA pageant that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Prejean eventually surrendered her crown after pageant officials accused her of missing events, an allegation she denied.
