Injury update

Free safety Ed Reed sustained a right shoulder stinger when he tried to tackle Darius Heyward-Bey (Maryland) on his 55-yard touchdown catch, but characterized it as minor.

"I'm fine," Reed said. "It was just a minor stinger, not very serious."

Rookie outside linebacker Courtney Upshaw aggravated a right shoulder injury first sustained during training camp and had an ice pack on it when leaving the locker room.

"It's not that bad," Upshaw said. "It's fine."
