The team shocks the NFLby winning the SuperBowl, setting a leaguerecord for allowing the fewestpoints (165) in a 16-game season.The Ravens win their final 11games, giving up only one defensivetouchdown throughout theplayoffs.

The Ravens win their firstdivision title. Rookie KyleBoller is named quarterback,beating out Chris Redmanin a training camp competition,but he gets hurt in his ninthgame and doesn't play the rest ofthe season after Anthony Wrightproves capable. Jamal Lewisrushes for 2,066 yards, secondmost for a season all time.

This is perhaps the mostdisappointing season infranchise history. Theteam talks Super Bowl beforethe season but fails to developa passing game. Heavily criticizedoffensive coordinator MattCavanaugh isn't retained aftersix seasons.
