Six defensive players have been fined by the NFL, including four for hits on quarterbacks.

Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Tony Brown drew the biggest fine Friday, $10,000 for roughing the passer. He made helmet-to-helmet contact with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback David Garrard.

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff, who hit the Denver Broncos' Kyle Orton, was fined $7,500 for the same offense.

The New England Patriots' Mike Wright was fined $5,000 for hitting Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in the head. In the same game, Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was fined $5,000 for the same offense on Tom Brady.

Also fined $7,500 were Chicago Bears defensive end Adewale Ogunleye, for a horse-collar tackle against Detroit, and Lions cornerback Anthony Henry for the same violation in that game.

BROWNS: Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson (Maryland) and kicker Phil Dawson missed practice and are doubtful for Sunday's game in Buffalo.

EAGLES: Michael Vick will be giving the public an inside look at his life during an eight-part television series scheduled to debut on BET next year. Tentatively titled "The Michael Vick Project," the cable show will follow the quarterback as he tries to redeem himself after going to prison for 18 months for his role in operating a dogfighting ring.

LIONS: Coach Jim Schwartz (Mount St. Joseph) has made one thing clear: He isn't going to help the opposition write its game plan. This week, that means a complete shutdown on news about rookie quarterback Matt Stafford's injured right knee and his status for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

PANTHERS: Running back Jonathan Stewart (Achilles tendon) is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, and kickoff returner Mike Goodson (concussion) won't play.

PATRIOTS: Coach Bill Belichick and running back Fred Taylor are hopeful Taylor's ankle surgery Thursday isn't season-ending. Taylor had surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle.

REDSKINS: Glenn Pakulak will take over Hunter Smith's duties as punter and holder for the game at Carolina. Smith pulled his groin last week.

SEAHAWKS: Coach Jim Mora said after Matt Hasselbeck completed his third consecutive practice Friday that he expects the quarterback to start Sunday against Jacksonville. It would be his first game since he broke a rib Sept. 20.
