Here's a look at recent media coverage of the Ravens.
• In ESPN.com's Tuesday Morning Quarterback column, Gregg Easterbrook chooses the matchup between the Ravens and Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 22 as the one game he'd like to attend between now and the end of the regular season.
If I Could Pick Just One Game This Season to Attend... It would be Indianapolis at Baltimore, Nov. 22. The Ravens' three losses have all been down-to-the-wire games against teams which are a combined 17-5. On Sunday, Baltimore basically toyed with previously unbeaten Denver; the Nevermores' defense looks as good as it ever has. Indianapolis has won 16 consecutive regular-season dates and looks Efficient with a capital E. Considering Baltimore is on a 15-4 run in the month of November, this pairing should be a monster contest.
• According to a poll conducted by CNNSI.com, NFL players voted Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward as the dirtiest player in the league. Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis was 11th on the list, and former Ravens linebacker Bart Scott was also in the top 20.
Ward, 33, has a long history of physical play. Last October, he was fined $15,000 for hits in back-to-back weeks that weren't penalized during the game. Later that month, Ward broke the jaw of Bengals rookie linebacker Keith Rivers with a surprise downfield block. The hit, which ended Rivers' season, did not draw a flag. "That's what he's known for," Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe said. "He's a blind-side guy."
• The Savannah Morning News' Donald Heath writes about Jayson Foster, who was cut by the Ravens in training camp and is now playing for the Florida Tuskers in the United Football League.
Foster, who possesses 4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash, is projected as a slot receiver at the NFL level, much like New England's Wes Welker, Turner says.
In four UFL games, Foster has 12 catches for 182 yards and a touchdown. He ranks fourth in the league in both receptions and passing yardage.
Last Friday against Las Vegas, he played one of his best games statistically, hauling in four passes for 93 yards, including a season-long 53-yarder.
Power rankings
• CNNSI.com's Don Banks raises the Ravens to No. 10 in his power rankings, a climb of four spots from last week.
The Ravens rising up and knocking off undefeated Denver will mean little if they don't follow it up with another big statement this week -- a win at Cincinnati. The Bengals already won in Baltimore in Week 5, so the rematch really is worth two games in the standings. That was the old Baltimore defense everyone has come to know and fear last week against the Broncos. Hitting people first, asking questions later. It's always a good sign for the Ravens when safety Ed Reed is the tone-setter. He blew up Knowshon Moreno with that one highlight reel hit, causing a fumble and lighting Baltimore's fire.
• Peter King of CNNSI.com picks the Ravens at No. 7 in "The Fine Fifteen" rankings this week.
A lot to like about the Ravens Sunday, on the heels of a three-game skid. I don't care what Joe Flacco's numbers were. I just know I feel like any time he's under pressure, he's going to make the right decision. Virtually every time. "I know,'' John Harbaugh said postgame via cellular. "It looks like the world is collapsing, and something good usually happens. He's amazing.''
• After routing the Broncos, the Ravens jumped four spots in ESPN.com's power rankings to No. 10.
They're celebrating a big victory over Denver, breaking a three-game losing streak.
• On the AFC North Blog, ESPN.com's James Walker talks about the Ravens' climb in the power rankings.
The Ravens needed a big win and got it with last weekend's convincing, 30-7, victory over Denver. The game moved the Ravens up four spots and into the top 10 and back into the conversation of AFC contenders. Baltimore has enough talent on both sides of the football to compete with anyone. The issue this year has been finishing games. The Ravens will have another big contest this week within the division against the Bengals.
• CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco moved the Ravens up to No. 10, but cautions that another big test awaits them.
They had to beat Denver to save their season, but now they get a big one against the Bengals on the road. To have a real chance to win the division, they need that one.
• Clifton Brown of The Sporting News offers praise for two of the Ravens' young offensive stars and lists the team at No. 10.
No sophomore slump for Joe Flacco. He and Ray Rice lead an offense that is dynamic.
• FoxSports.com's Adrian Hasenmayer keeps the Ravens at No. 8 in his power poll.
That 30-7 beatdown of previously-spotless Denver serves as a warning to the rest of the NFL: Ray Lewis and the Ravens D may be back. This week, Broncos players will sport the aches and pains to prove it, as the Ravens were back to the hammering hits and physical play that has marked this defense for the past decade. Oh, and another warning: If they are back, now they have the AFC's top-scoring offense. Yikes.
• Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports discusses his high expectations for the Ravens, ranking them at No. 8 in this week's list.
Am I the only one who gets the feeling that this team is capable of greatness?
• USA Today has the Ravens at No. 10 in the power rankings, up three places from last week.
Second loss vs. Bengals could doom division title hopes.
