CHARGERS PASS OFFENSE VS. RAVENS PASS DEFENSE

The Ravens' pass defense hasn¿t had to face an upper-echelon quarterback since it was matched up against the Pittsburgh Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger six weeks ago. The Ravens will face a significant challenge Sunday against Philip Rivers, who has been a turnover machine for much of the season but has been much better of late. He's thrown 17 interceptions but none in the last two weeks. Big reasons for his improvement have been the improved health of wide receiver Malcom Floyd and tight end Antonio Gates and improved offensive line play. Rivers has been sacked just once in the past two weeks, getting time to complete 46-of-71 pass attempts for 534 yards and six touchdowns during that span. With Floyd and Gates and deep threats Vincent Jackson (952 yards, 8 touchdowns) and Vincent Brown, the Chargers are a tough matchup for any secondary, and that doesn't bode well for the Ravens, who could be without their top corner, Lardarius Webb. But this matchup could be decided on the line of scrimmage, as former Ravens' left tackle Jared Gaither will try to slow down linebacker Terrell Suggs, the AFC leader in sacks. The Ravens lead the NFL with 45 sacks. EDGE: CHARGERS
