( Getty Images / January 1, 2012 ) Watching the Saints play indoors is almost like watching a Roy Williams-coached basketball team. They're running a perpetual fast break, pushing the ball down your throat on every possession. I don't know how that kind of football would play in the cold and the rain of the AFC North, but I do know that Sproles' ability to catch the ball and run away from pretty much every linebacker in the game is unmatched. At some point on Saturday, Jim Schwartz might as well have tried putting a cornerback on Sproles, just to try and get his defense off the field on third down. I suspect New Orleans won't look the same outdoors against San Francisco, Green Bay or New York, but if you like offense, it's remarkable to watch Sproles skip and bounce around the field like a water bug. |
