After a seven-month hiatus, Real Championship Wrestling makes its return to the Du Burns Arena with RCW Reloaded on Saturday.
RCW, an independent wrestling promotion based in Baltimore, was formed in June 2009 by Brad Vance and several wrestling talents, including Ruckus, Derek Frazier and others from Maryland. The company hosted its first show – “The Takeover” – June 14, 2009. Since then, RCW has become a tour de force in Maryland and in East Coast independent wrestling, with names such as The Briscoe Brothers, The Osirian Portal, Shiima Zion (TNA's Zima Ion), Mia Yim and Azrieal.
Reloaded begins the partnership of RCW and Reina X World. Aki Kambayashi, Aoi Ishibashi, Sarah Bridges and RCW’s own Mia Yim will be representing Reina World. In August 2012, Mia Yim signed with Reina World to become an official member of the roster. The promotion announced its first U.S. partnership in Aug. 2012 with RCW.
Reloaded will also feature a host of special attraction matches, including the Battle for Supremacy, an RCW Strong Style Slugfest and a Triple-Threat Match. The Battle for Supremacy match features Greg Excellent, Ruckus, Kindred and Core. The winner will receive a title match of his choosing at any time. The RCW Strong-Style Slugfest, a match where a wrestler can only win by submission or knockout, features fierce rivals Alex Payne and Skull.
At the RCW Strong-Style Slugfest, Alex Payne and Skull will resume their feud, which began at RCW New Beginning on Aug. 6, 2011. On that night, Payne nearly ended Skull’s career when he dropped him on his head. This round, Payne will seek revenge.
The main event of the evening is the triple-threat match that will feature Ryan McBride, Devon Moore and the hometown hero, Derek Frazier. Moore, one of the most underrated talents in the tri-state area, is making his first appearance in RCW since Dec. 4, 2010.
