The Petoskey Predators and ALS were winners Monday in Petoskey Women's Fast Pitch Softball League games at Bayfront Park's Ed White Field.
Angie Asam, Kelsey Peppler and Katie Marshall had two hits apiece to lead the Predators to an 8-3 victory over BASES.
Michelle Sysko and Maddie Zimmerman had two hits apiece and drove in two runs in leading ALS to an 11-3 win over Boyne City Ace Hardware. One of Sysko's hits was a triple, while Zimmerman had a double among her two hits.
ALS pitchers Kristi Lewis and Stacy Barber-Walker combined on a five-hitter. Lewis started and struck out three over 4 1-3 innings for the victory. Barber-Walker went the final 1 2-3 innings, striking out two and walking one.
Lindsay Clemens, Barber-Walker and Anna Burkhart had two hits apiece for the winners, while Shelby Mittig, Lewis, Cheyenne Shumaker and Sam Miller added a single apiece.
Alicia Pearce and Kate Stolarski had two hits each to lead Boyne Ace Hardware, while Stacy McGeorge singled. Stolarski walked three in taking the loss.
The Predators broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the sixth inning, then added three insurance runs in the seventh in its victory 8-3 win over BASES.
Amanda Brilley, Logan Fleming and Courtney Doernenburg each doubled for the Predators, while April Johnson, Katie Doernenburg and Brooke Paige added a single apiece.
Katie Doernenburg struck out two, walked three and allowed seven hits for the victory.
Holly Burkhart had two hits and Leah Kelly doubled to lead BASES at the plate. Trista Cady, Mariah Lambert, Trish Heron and Jessica Brown each singled.
Kaila Schutte struck out three and walked two in taking the loss.
Women's league play resumes at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, with BASES taking on the Petoskey Blaze in the first game, and the Petoskey Predators and ALS meeting in the nightcap.
On Thursday, June 16, men's league games start at 7 p.m. with East Jordan Iron Works playing Fahrenheit Photography. In the nightcap, East Jordan Iron Works plays Bay Street Orthopaedics.
