Prep roundup: Swordsmen claim Gordon Cup with league tournament victory; Northmen swept in track and field

The Swordsmen, who earned the Gordon Cup for winning the league tourney, finished with a 357 team score, while Alanson-Pellston was second with 380. Mackinaw City shot 409 to place third, and Wolverine was fourth with 430.
Harbor Light wrapped up the league's regular-season championship last week.
"Mike Muller has been playing strong all season long," Harbor Light coach Gary Mindel said. "He is a very good player. When he stays positive and believes he has the skills, he can go low. It is great to see him playing with this sense of confidence."
Drew Dean shot 87 for the Swordsmen, while Austin Kruzel shot 92, and Josh Walker posted a 97.
Conner Kintz shot 84 to lead Alanson-Pellston, while Dale Stark shot 89, Steve Doss finished with 103, and Mike Vieau shot 104.

BOYNE FALLS -- Traverse City St. Francis edged Charlevoix Tuesday in an 18-hole Lake Michigan Conference match on the Alpine at Boyne Mountain.
The Gladiators finished with a 346 team score, while Charlevoix shot 352 to place second.
Boyne City, 362, was third, followed by Harbor Springs, 369; Elk Rapids, 379; East Jordan, 387; Grayling, 394; and Kalkaska, 408.
Charlevoix's Wyatt Drost shot 78 to earn medalist honors. Bryan Wonski of Boyne City shot 80 to place third.
