Freshman guard Kerby Tamm had 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Central Michigan women’s basketball team during a 67-64 Mid-American Conference loss to Kent State.
Tamm, a Petoskey grad, came off the bench to hit two of her six 3-point attempts. She was 4-of-9 from the floor overall in 21 minutes.
Central is 11-9 overall, 3-3 in the MAC, and plays host Ohio University on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
— Cory Starkey, a 2011 Petoskey grad, scored three points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out one assist and made one block while playing seven minutes for the Bucknell men’s basketball team during a 75-41 Patriot League win over Holy Cross.
It was the seventh straight win for Bucknell, which is 15-6, 5-0 Patriot.
Starkey, a 6-foot-7 orward, has played in seven games, scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds. The Bison play at American on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
— Sophomore guard Joe Keedy scored eight points, had two rebounds, and one assist for the Swarthmore men’s basketball team in a 75-72 Centennial Conference loss to Ursinus (Pa.).
Keedy, a Petoskey grad, made all three of his 3-point attempts on the night. His final triple capped a 16-4 Garnet run, giving Swarthmore a 61-54 lead.
Swarthmore is 1-15 overall, 1-8 Centennial, and plays host to McDaniel (Md.) on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
