Saturday, March 25: The first Maryland Governor's Cup, a taekwondo tournament, will be held at APG Arena of Harford Community College. Fools for Fitness

Rockfish season opens

April 15: The spring season for striped bass begins at 5 a.m. in Maryland's portion of the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal tributaries. Recreational fishing opportunities will run through midnight May 15, with a catch limit of one fish per person, per day, 35 inches or larger.

Gun and outdoor show

April 15: Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association will host its Spring Gun & Outdoor Show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on club grounds at 3400 Northwind Road in Carney. April 29: The Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association will host its annual Bull & Oyster Roast from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on club grounds at 3400 Northwind Road in Carney. Soccer tournament

April 29-30: Central Maryland Soccer Association will sponsor the 20th annual Old Line State Soccer Classic in Jarrettsville. The event is U.S. Soccer Federation-sanctioned through the Soccer Association for Youth. All eligible teams participating in will receive GotSoccer Points. Single-age level competition is available for U8 through U15 and the dual ages of U16 and U18; the competition for U8 thru U10 is 7v7, for U11 & U12 is 9v9, and for 11v11 for U13 and older. All teams are guaranteed three games in a round-robin or championship bracket format. An organizational multiple team discount is available. The registration deadline is April 15. Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk

April 30: The Adam Thompson 5K Run/Walk will start at 8 a.m. at Harford Community College, 401 Thomas Run Road in Bel Air. The race honors the memory of Thompson, a first-year HCC student who was killed in an automobile accident in 2011. Proceeds will benefit scholarships supporting students attending the school. Brigance 5.7K event

April 30: The Brigance Brigade Foundation's fourth annual 5.7K Championship Race & 1.57 Mile Family Run/Walk will celebrate the kickoff of ALS Awareness Month (May) and the 10-year anniversary of former Ravens linebacker O.J. Brigance's ALS diagnosis (May 16). The family-friendly event at Canton Waterfront Park will feature a timed 5.7K run, a 1.57-mile family run/walk and a Kid's Fun Run for children 8 and under. Proceeds will further the foundation's mission to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS by providing access to needed equipment, resource guidance and additional support services.
