•GolfGreg Norman, who at age 53 took third at the British Open, said he has until today to decide whether to accept an invitation for next month's PGA Championship.
•Basketball WNBA president Donna Orender is expected to announce findings today of the league's review of Tuesday night's melee between the Detroit Shock and Los Angeles Sparks, a league source told Newsday. Two L.A. players and one player and an assistant from Detroit were ejected.
•TennisTop-ranked Roger Federer lost to France's Gilles Simon, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, in the second round of the ATP Rogers Cup in Toronto.
