Taylor Matson had a goal and an assist to lead the Orlando Solar Bears to a 4-3 shootout victory over the host Florida Everblades at Germain Arena in front of a crowd of 4,613 Friday night in ECHL action.

The Solar Bears led 2-0 in the opening period. Florida tied the game at 3-3 with 5:11 to play in the third period before the Solar Bears won 3-1 in the shootout.

Orlando has earned at least one point in its last seven games and is now 8-5-0-2 on the road after winning just eight games on the road last season.

Mickey Lang and Kory Nagy also scored for Orlando (20-12-1-2, 43 points). Christopher Gibson had 33 saves for the Solar Bears.

Eric Baier, Bryce Aneloski, Blake Kesel, Connor Goggin and Michael Catenacci each collected an assist.

Mike Duco, Catenacci and Lang all connected in the shootout. Only Danick Gauthier connected for the Everblades.

Mathieu Roy and Philip-Michael Devos each had a goal and two assists for Florida (21-11-1-2, 45 points). Goalkeeper Scott Stajcer recorded 25 saves.

Florida outshot Orlando 36-29 in the match.

The teams will meet again at 7 tonight in Estero.

Earlier Friday, the Solar Bears announced forwards Matson and Duco had rejoined the team. Matson had been with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, and Duco was assigned from the AHL's Toronto Marlies.

Forward Mike Ullrich was loaned to Iowa, and forward C.J. Severyn was loaned to the AHL's Utica Comets.
