Gators to face Vanderbilt Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network

The Florida Gators Nov. 8 visit to Vanderbilt will be televised at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

The Commodores (2-6, 0-5 SEC) are winless in conference play under first-year coach Derek Mason. But Vanderbilt showed some improvement during a 24-14 loss at Missouri last Saturday and will host Old Dominion on Saturday night.

The Gators (3-3, 2-3)will look to keep their slim SEC East title hopes alive Saturday against division-leading Georgia (6-1, 4-1).

Vanderbilt delivered coach Will Muschamp’s Gators one of the biggest blows of his rocky tenure at UF.  The Commodores beat the Gators 31-17 last November during homecoming in the Swamp.

It was Vandy’s first win against UF since 1988 and first in Gainesville since 1945.

The fourth-ranked Gators beat the Commodores 31-17 in 2012 behind Jeff Driskel, who set a school rushing record for a quarterback with 177 yards and three touchdowns.

But Driskel has 12 turnovers during the past four games, three of them Gators’ losses, leading Muschamp to bench him for the Georgia games in favor of first-year freshman Treon Harris.
